These weeks are going faster and faster. I am enjoying every second of it! and I can't wait for the next week to start!
So for week 3, we started our production work: learning file naming conventions, creating a short animatic, capturing reference shots and preparing to start making our first project.
For drawing, we started our first assignment for marks. Creating a drawing through observing light on white objects. We had to draw this with white conte on a black sheet of paper. A great challenge! So we will be finishing those up in the next week and seeing what improvements we can make or whether we have learned the decided outcome.
Animation we are doing the bouncing ball animation. My instructor decided since I have done this before, he challenged me to create 3 bouncing balls of different weights. This will also be for marks, so it has to be convincing.
In modelling we reviewed the bike wheels we modelled, and have now started modelling the object for our final project. Other than a few bruised vertices, my giant Eye is coming along nicely :)
Lighting class this week was great. We had our sunny day images marked, mine turned out well but I still need some practice on shadow quality. This was also the first class that everything made sense, shows that I'm starting to absorb the information and understand it all. For photography, we learned how to trick the camera into creating perfect shots in focus and exact to what your eye sees by changing the exposure. in Rigging, we learned some basic Python scripting, creating polygon shapes in maya with script and controlling them as well. We also worked on versioning and naming conventions for assets and files.
Compositing this week, we learned about merging images, using key switches, shuffles and creating masks.
Finally, in Particles & Dynamics we created rain and snow, learning to create the elements in a convincing way digitally.
We also had our first fie
Very cool week! Can't wait to see what more is in store!
